Boxer Rescue

A boxer rescue is generally supported by the local breeder and kennels are the temporary homes. Like any other breed of dog, this one can be found in difficult situations when there is actually no one to care for them. The dogs that end up in shelters have been abandoned by their owners, or have been found as strays in the street. Adopting a dog is a large step, and should be thoroughly pre-considered. Fill out an application form. If it is approved, you will have an interview with a volunteer. The interview will clarify if adopting a dog of this active breed is what will work both for you and the needy dog. These dogs are muscular, short-coated, and square-headed, characterized by the slightly pushed in top of the muzzle, and a broad nose. Dogs stand up to 25 inches at the withers and weigh about 70 pounds. Females are slightly smaller, but both sexes have similar personalities and abilities. These dogs have a short coat that needs minimal grooming. A regular wipe-down and an occasional bath will keep it in a good condition. The only acceptable body color in this breed is fawn with white markings on muzzle, chest, belly, feet, neck, and inner legs. The face should be a black mask. A boxer rescue is generally supported by the local breeder and kennels are the temporary homes.
